I just returned from spending the better part of two days at a compelling conference organized by the Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs (SVASE), held at Microsoft's Mountain View Campus, and sponsored by Garage Technology Ventures: Launch Silicon Valley 2008 .
A networking reception was held Monday evening prior to the conference at Cooley Godward Kronish headquarters in Palo Alto. 30 startups were picked from a field of 250+ applicants to present their business strategies, technologies, and go-to-market strategies at the conference.
I'll be summarizing my take on some of the most promising startups here on the Bell Letter blog over the next couple of weeks. I had the chance to talk to dozens of the founding entrepreneurs and take in the entirety of the event, which was really quite impressive. I'll report on some of the most interesting startups, as well as some of the takeaways and highlights from hallway discussions over the next 1-2 weeks.
Innovation and entrepreneurship is definitely very much alive and well in Silicon Valley!
Thanks to the sponsors for organizing this excellent event and attracting such a stellar group of entrepreneurs, investors, and valley veterans to visit with, learn from, and compare notes. Our thanks to SVASE, Microsoft, Garage Technology Ventures, and Cooley Godward Kronish for putting together such a fantastic showcase of what Silicon Valley is all about.
Below is the list of companies that presented. I will update this blog
post over the next week as I review my notes and conduct follow-up
discussions.
